Here's the place to tell everyone what you're reading at the moment, what you like (or dislike) about it and so on. You can also share details of books you have read in the past if you want to (but no spoilers please, in case others decide to read following your post!). I'll start the ball rolling: ' Final Days' by Gary Gibson - an innovative slow-burner, it takes time to set up the story and the various characters, some of whom I thought seemed to have quite a lot of time spent on them for people who are about to be killed - but since I am only half-way through the book, perhaps there was a good reason for that! But the first chapter hooked me - a real page-turner about a future Earth, 'Final Days' is set in 2235. The Earth is about to be destroyed by technology from an alien race known only as 'the founders', and the main characters must try to stop it happening. This involves one man meeting his future self and some technical detail, but it is not over-done, so don't let that put you off! Apparently the science of the 'worm hole = time travel' is a theory postulated by Albert Einstein himself and whilst we have yet to come up with the technology to make it fact rather than fiction, it's probably at least vaguely familiar to viewers of ' Doctor Who'...
